SPITHEAD BUSINESS CENTRE
Temperature Ltd was a specialist air conditioning company owned by Norcros plc. It supplied a/c units for trains and the underground from the 1960s to 1990s.
In 1967, Norcros Ltd built a new factory at Lake - which would later become Spithead Business Centre. In the early 1990s, Norcros shut the Isle of Wight operation down and moved it to Portsmouth.
Thereafter, they subsequently sold this business to Smoothcross Ltd as part of a restructuring exercise that included the disposal of a number of non core assets.
In 1999 Norcros was sold for £171m to Stormgrange Ltd (possibly as part of a management buyout). Stormgrange then changed it's name back to Norcros Ltd a year later and floated it (back) on the stock market in 2007. Spithead Business Cente became a multi-occupational building around 1996.

OBJECTIVE ~ STRATEGY ~ TARGET
Our objective at Spithead Business Centre is to create the most productive and best managed estate on the Isle of Wight.

Our strategy for delivering this objective is to identify our tenants' needs and implement them with as little interuption to their business and their customers as possible.

Our targets to meet this strategy are fluid. Currently, they include renovating the existing buildings/estate providing improved facilities within which our corporate customers can care about their environment (and each other) and also to look after and support the wider community as a whole.

Spithead continues to promote both itself and the wider commercial district and provide ongoing support and assistance to the local community whenever we can.
