Spithead Business Centre was converted in the mid 1990s to provide much needed logistics and manufacturing space for the East Bay area on the Isle of Wight. It has subsequently developed as one of the major commercial centres for the whole island alongside Newport and Ryde. It fronts Newport Road, close to Aldi and Morrisons, and opposite Premier Inn, with excellent access to the major towns of Ryde, Newport and Cowes. The immediate catchment area is close to 25,000 people. It is therefore very strategically placed for all types of commerce within East Wight.

Spithead has established itself over the last 25 years and is home to many logistics and production companies as well as printing, motor trade and tourist product businesses. Anchor tenants include Ecassa, Ritchies, Culvertronic, Elis (laundry services), Howdens, DH Price, ATS, Design Invent Print (DIP), Choice Carpets. Screwfix and Severnside, amongst many others, all of whom have added to the vibrant core tenant profile. It is this diversity that has secured the estate's long term future.

Commercial confidence in the immediate area has seen the arrival of national brands such as Premier Inn, Aldi, KFC and Marstons’ Merrie Gardens family pub, further confirming its status as an important commercial district on the Isle of Wight.

Casper Douglas Properties bought the estate in 2015 to secure its long term future through renovation and restoration which is currently ongoing.
RENOVATION
Over the last few years, we have undertaken urgent remedial and renovation works including a roof overlay, repairing estate roads, replacing and painting external elevations.
We have updated services, utilities and drainage, ramping up security (CCTV and automatic timed locking entry systems), replacing traditional with LED lighting and new signage, and the creation of additional parking.

OCCUPATION
Spithead Business Centre is now 90 per cent let with just a couple of units available.
This turnaround was due to the support from our customers and their trust in our commitment to the long term future of the estate.
As a consequence of this, important new leases were signed with all our major occupiers.
TRADE CREATION & STORAGE
PROMOTING NEW BUSINESS
We are pretty much fully let currently but we have created defined spaces to encourage "start up" businesses - either within our new business centre or our production and storage areas.

SPITHEAD FOUNDATION
We are very keen to support the many inspirational people out there, who are all trying to make the world a much better place. We should play our part in helping them achieve their ambitions.

Our focus is Isle of Wight based - along with other like-minded ventures such as WightAid, we identify and invest in good causes such as Blue Seas Protection.

SPITHEAD ADVERTISING & MARKETING
Our LED Advertising screen continues to go from strength to strength. Positioned on the eastern elevation of the side of Block A/B, this has proved to be an exciting and successful project and we received over 35 enquiries over the first day it went up!

We particularly support and promote local business and community projects as well as island based charities.
